  2. UAE VAT Updates : Reference to Federal Decree-law No. (8) of 2017 on Value added tax and Cabinet Decision No. (52) of 2017 on the Executive Regulations of VAT. We would like to inform you about the implementation of VAT Law in UAE, which will govern our business transactions from the effective date. The above-mentioned Decree and Regulations comes into force on 1st January 2018 (effective date). As per Article (3) of VAT Decree Law No (8) of 2017, a standard VAT rate of 5% will be applicable on all supplies and import of goods and services, except those goods and services which are zero rated or exempt from VAT. DUBAI CUSTOMS UPDATE:


Declaration processing of High Value Exports through Courier


Please Note effective November 1st 2017 As per Dubai Customs notice NO. (8/2010) titled "Clearing process and procedures for courier companies shipments" and to adhere with Dubai Customs strategic plan and objectives to facilitate the swift customs clearance of goods, all shipments exported from Dubai with a declared value of 1000 AED and above will require a customs export declaration.


The export declarations will incur the following charges:

  • Shipments moving within GCC 75 AED per shipment

  • Shipments moving outside of the GCC 120 AED per shipment

Shipments originating from Dubai Free Zones will continue to be subjected to the existing Free Zone export declaration charges.


To ensure we can process your export declarations as efficiently as possible we request that you provide a detailed commercial invoice containing the following information:

  • HTS Code

  • Product description

  • Value

  • Currency

  • Country of Origin
